Privacy policy
This page explains what Soccer Data (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit soccer-data.co or ask for an API key, what we use it for, and how to have it removed. The short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you request an API key. We store it with the date you signed up.
- Visit statistics, through DataFast, a privacy-focused analytics service. It records things like the pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate country. We use it to see how the site is used, not to identify you.
- Basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser details, which our servers and infrastructure providers process to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We don't ask for your name, payment details or anything else on this site.
Why we use it
- To send you your API key, the quickstart, and occasional updates about Soccer Data. You asked for these by submitting the form, and you can opt out at any time.
- To understand which parts of the site are useful and to keep it running and secure. This is in our legitimate interest and has minimal impact on your privacy.
Cookies
The site sets two essential cookies that protect the sign-up form against forged requests. DataFast also sets a first-party cookie so that a returning visit isn't counted as a new visitor. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Who else sees it
We share data only with the services that help us run Soccer Data:
- our hosting and infrastructure providers, which store the site and deliver it to you;
- DataFast, for the visit statistics described above;
- Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser loads the site's fonts.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses. We never sell or rent your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you ask us to delete it or until we stop running Soccer Data, whichever comes first. Visit statistics are kept in aggregate form.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email privacy@soccer-data.co and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the UK or the EU and think we've mishandled your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
Soccer Data is a service for developers and businesses, and it includes betting odds. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll email the people on our list before it takes effect.
